Connections & Curiosity

As our churches become more conservative theologically and socially many generous Christians worry about the future.

Many can feel isolated and misunderstood.

Many can also feel diminished as established answers are repeated and the opportunities that come with growing diversity, shifting identities and fragile democracy go unnoticed.

The connections and curiosity we need cannot always be generated by existing institutional structures.

So we set up a Network to help each other engage more deeply with God’s work of new creation.

God’s work of New Creation

God is restoring creation through Christ by growing faith, hope and love.

When we are prepared to learn from God we grow in faith. When we work together we rise in hope. When we accept that we are valued by God we act from love.

Our task as Christians is not to escape the world but to help people grow and thrive by releasing these gifts of God’s Spirit.

As a Network we aim to grow leaders with:

Generous Minds

We need to develop the capacity for theological conversation about God’s restorative work in creation. It requires us to work dynamically with Scripture, tradition, reason and experience.

Our intellectual capacity develops vitality when we can ask questions, listen to each other and join together in discovering potential resolutions.

Abundant Hearts

We need to develop the capacity for reflective practices that help us to stay focused in God’s restorative work in creation. These practices help us to develop our capacity for prayer and worship.

When we connect with God, we understand ourselves as beloved and the world as the space where faith, hope and love needs to grow.

Effective Hands

We need to develop our capacity to act out of faith, hope and love in deeply restorative ways based in equality and respect.

When we engage in works of justice, compassion and peacemaking with those around us the kingdom of God grows in the world.
